Astronomical alignments from this circle: Sun rise & set Dec +17.2 / -16.0. Excavations undertaken at this circle: -. Details of any finds at this circle: - This circle is not in state care. Access to the circle: The circle sits 200m from the road and near the centre of a field which in summer may be ploughed or crop filled. Access is not easy at this time of year as it would mean crossing the field to reach it, there are no footpaths to the circle. Description:The circle is visible from the roadside and sits atop a small hillock within the ploughed field. The visible stones stand about 1-1.5m high against the skyline. There are two outlier's which Professor Thom indicated have sunrise declinations that may mark the Celtic festivals of Beltane & Imbolc.Not really worth a visit unless access can be gained with permission from the land owner. |
