Access to the circle:

Quite an easy circle to find and reach. It lies along a major footpath leading south along Froggatt Edge from the B6054 road. A walk of about 1.1km is needed to reach the circle and it can be found a short distance beyond the path's second gate just off to the left of the main path. A side path that breaks away from the main footpath runs right through the circle.

Description:

This is a complex site and in a ruinous state. Most of the circle is hidden by bracken in the summer. There is one large stone that stands 1.1m high which marks an entrance and can clearly be seen on the SW side of the ring. There are other stones which stand about 0.55m high and there is the remains of a rubble bank in the NW section. The SE section however is completely overgrown and destroyed. Not really worth a visiting, ruined and almost unrecognisable as a stone circle. An excellent walk however along Froggatt Edge with superb views to the west over the Derwent Valley.

Froggatt Edge (Stoke Flat)

Froggatt Edge is ruinous and the stones are overgrown with bracken in summer.
