Access to the circle:

Although there is good access to this site, the circle can be quite difficult to find. It lies on open moor land near the Barbrook Reservoir on Big Moor. There are no paths leading to it and no nearby markers to help locate it. The best route is off the main A 621 Owler Bar road and along a tarmac road leading to the local water authority works next to the reservoir. About 500m along this road is a concessionary footpath that leads off to the right. The circle lies about 250m along this path and then about 20m to the left of it.

Description:

The stones are just visible in the grass and heather. They are not large and some have fallen, the tallest is only 0.55m high and there appear to be stones missing in the SW section. The circle, whilst similar to Barbrook I, is much larger and the stones, although more numerous, are smaller. The circle is clearly recognisable and there are good views in most directions with Barbrook I possibly being visible in the distance. A lonely neglected ring that can be very difficult to find but one that has a unique charm all of it's own.
