Description:The adjoining circles of White Moss NE & SW are pleasing to visit, both have stones that stand well above the tall grass and are set against a backdrop of impressive mountain ranges and moor land with views in all directions. The stones stand proud above the grass and heather and make up two neat little rings that are marked on the OS Landranger maps as cairns. A remote site that is one for the hill walker and enthusiast. It is well worth visiting the neighbouring sites of Brats Hill and Low Longridge if you get as far as White Moss, both of which are fairly close by. I must confess I never got as far as the Low Longridge site as I ran out of time (and energy!). |
