Description:

At first circle 278 appears to be a random scattering of large boulders. On close inspection it is just possible to make out the sites oval shape. It consisted of a low stony bank about 2.4m think which surrounded an open space. It was lined with standing stones and there were kerb stones at the north east. Charcoal from the site dated to around 1780BC. Whilst not the most impresive of circle sites it is worth taking a look if you just happen to be visiting the Druid's Circle.
